Kasi school holiday tour
LYDA realised that when schools are closed most kids won’t be going away for holidays so we came up with a school holiday programme to keep them busy and off the streets. LYDA managed to get more kids involved in activities such as sport, debate, poetry and etc. The kids invited their friends. cousin’s and even other kids from other provinces to partake . We managed to provide food for them so that they be productive.
Kasi school holiday tour
We had a tour around Diepsloot for our visitors from variety part of the country, so they can learn about kasi life because some of them come from villages and are not used to seeing a lot of people and all the 11 official languages spoken in one place . They were amazed with the fact that we spoke most languages fluently. Although this was new to them they loved the experience. They got to see how our believes and morals are similar to them back at home and learn that we are similar in a different way.
